Now the Inboard M1 happens to be a pretty minimalistic electric skateboard, the majority of skateboard itself is all black, however, you should know that there are some red accents that look really good on it. Needless to say, there’s no denying that the red and black accents go really well together.

The M1 uses dual manta drive motors to power it, and can manage to go as fast as 21 mph, this isn’t bad at all, however, keep in mind that the range of the skateboard tops up at about 10 mph. Which means that you’ll have to charge the device at least once, or swap the battery in order to complete the entire 21 miles.

4. Yuneec E-Go2 –View on Amazon

Yuneec E-Go2

The next electric skateboard we are looking at is from a company called Yuneec, we were kind of suspicious that we have heard the name of the company before, and upon doing some digging, we realized that Yuneec is also known for making quadcopters, and drones for the hobbyists.

Keeping that in mind, we started taking a proper look in to the E-Go2; Yuneec’s own rendition of an electric skateboard in order to find out about just how good the skateboard is. The good news is that we couldn’t have been happier.

For the price you’re paying, you get to have an amazing electric skateboard. The good news about this electric is that it’s not available in the market to beat the competition or make one, it’s simply there to create its own market and it did.

The modestly priced electric skateboard offers a lot in the price you are paying for it, and is built with quality in mind. The good thing is that build quality is something that you won’t be having issues with at all. Keep in mind that the E-Go2 is unapologetically as it is, the battery isn’t hidden in tires or anything, a matter of fact, it’s right under the skateboard and can be easily seen.

The 400w motor is capable of allowing you to get the max speed of 12 miles per hour, and while the speed isn’t exactly record breaking it was never meant to be an amazing range of 18 miles per hour, something that we rarely get to see on electric skateboards, but keep in mind that the range is always subjective on the weight of the rider, as well as the surface on which it has to move.

Moving on, the build quality isn’t something that happens to be really fantastic to be honest, it’s basic at best, but considering the price you’re paying for this versus the price you’re paying for some of the other electric skateboards in the market, it all makes sense.

Just make sure that you don’t put too much pressure on the skateboard, and in addition to that, you don’t take it out in the water, because that can mess up things. All in all, the Yuneec E-Go2 is built for people who want to get into skateboarding but don’t have enough money to spend on electric skateboards.

Pros

  • Great value for money.
  • Works as intended.
  • Looks cool enough.
  • Great range.

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer much to write home about.

There are some specific qualities that make the Evolve Carbon GT 2-in-1 such an amazing skateboard to begin with, for starters, the deck is stiff in order to make the skateboard a lot more reliable and sturdy On top of that, it’s built using Kevlar and carbon fiber, two of the strongest, and lightest materials that are used in the construction.

What’s better is that the Carbon GT 2-in-1 uses huge 8 inch wheels that are meant to be pretty dominating when it comes to terrains; these wheels will have no problems going through majority of surfaces.

The Evolve Carbon GT 2-in-1 comes with a single 350w motor, and while them motor is certainly less impressive compared to some of the other boards we have seen in the list, it actually manages to perform really well in conjunction with the overall lightweight of the board itself. We just wish that Evolve had used a more powerful motor here.

The Evolve comes in 3 versions; street, AT, and 2-in-1, we managed to get the 2-in-1 which means that it can work on all terrains. The battery life remained impressive throughout the entire testing process, and Evolve didn’t show any signs of slowing down.

  • Made for skateboard enthusiasts.
  • Carbon fiber and Kevlar construction for the maximum durability.
  • Available in 3 different variants.
  • Great speed.

It has a respectable enough top speed of 17 miles per hour, and range of 10 miles, something that we honestly didn’t expect from the skateboard, but were genuinely surprised when we found about it. Another good news about this skateboard is that that the battery only takes 60 minutes to charge, this means that you can easily top it up in an hour and be on your way again.

In order to make sure that the skateboard doesn’t break, or get damaged, always use it under the optimal conditions while staying under the suggested weight limit. This will ensure a longer life of the skateboard.

This is actually one of the first electric skateboards in the market that comes with its own AI, yes, the Spectra Pro has an artificial intelligence that can speed up or down based on the person who is actually riding it. Acton Blink Lite Skateboard

We are slowly heading towards the end of the list, and we still have surprise coming over way, as a matter of fact, the next skateboard that we are looking at is a rather odd one. That’s mainly because it happens to be cheapest electrical skateboard on our list, and still manages to hold up really well.

Sure, it may not be able to go against some of the heavy hitters that we have listed so far, but the whole point is that it successfully, and easily manages to create good spot for itself. Now before we go any further, we would like to inform you that this skateboard is for people who don’t want to spend a lot of money.

Simply put, this is the best purchase if you’re looking for an electric skateboard that will allow you to start the learning process. Sure, it lacks most of the advanced, and even some of the basic features, but that doesn’t really stop it from being a good skateboard, does it?

The skateboard has a somewhat attractive design, that has deck made is made out of maple, so we can’t really complain there as it happens to be the major choice of material most companies go for. Now the motor isn’t all that powerful, and the max range that is offered on this skateboard is just 5 miles.

Which means that you’ll have to recharge the skateboard after ever 5 miles, and while it’s not bad per say, it’s not exactly as good as it should have been either. Now the strange thing here is that despite the battery being average, the skateboard takes somewhere around 2 hours to charge, this is by far the longest time we have seen so far, and it is kind of weird.

In case you are wondering what other important features are missing, we are going to talk about some of them of them now; for starters, the battery isn’t user replaceable, there’s no waterproofing, and there’s only 1 motor that is powering the entire skateboard. Last but not the least, the skateboard can only handle people weighing 180 pounds or lower.

All of these downsides won’t take long enough to turn into deal breakers. With that said, it’s safe to say that this skateboard is made for people who are on a tight budget, and can’t spend a lot of money.

Pros

  • Attractive, street inspired design.
  • Commendable build quality.

Cons

  • Short battery life.
  • Long charging time.
  • Battery isn’t user replaceable.
  • No waterproofing.
  • Only uses 1 motor.

9. Stary Electric Board – View on Amazon

Stary Electric Board - Best Electric Skateboard 2017

We’re almost done with the list of best electric skateboards, and we’re now going to take a look at the 2nd last electric skateboard in the list before we can head towards the conclusion. We have seen some of the finest products that truly wowed as and at the same time, we have seen some mediocre skateboards as well. The product we are looking at right now is known as the Start Electric Board; sadly, the name doesn’t really tell us much about the board itself, so we decided to take a look anyway.

This is definitely one of the more affordable options available in the market, and this means that it lacks some of the features that make the electric skateboards so damn attractive to buy. Well, we are not going to be spoil sports, but it’s up to us to tell you the good and bad between the products that are available in the market.

Simply put, there are some good things about the Stary electric board, and some downsides, but we are going to talk about the positive things first, this is to make sure that everyone is well aware of what they’re dealing with.

The good thing is that the motor is installed inside the wheels rather than under the deck, this allows the underside of the board look a lot cleaner, and the motor doesn’t get messed up by the small debris, the deck itself is a combination of maple wood, carbon fiber, and glass fiber, making it one of the strongest materials on a skateboard.

The motor in the skateboard is powerful enough to allow it to climb a 30-degree slope, this allows the user to easily scale the inclined surfaces without really facing many issues. Another great thing is that despite being a budget oriented electric skateboard, it has a 10 mile range that should be enough for most of the starters.

Last but not the least, the Start electric board features the top speed of 18.6 miles per hour, again, thanks to the powerful motor, this is one of the best speeds available on majority of skateboards in the market, and we actually admire it.

While all of these are good things, there are some downsides too, the motor happens to be really loud for some reason, and it’s not something that can be serviced or maintained that easily by the end user. The website, or the product description doesn’t’ specify the weight, and while this shouldn’t be an issue for people who don’t weigh a lot, it’s certainly a downside for others.

Pros

  • Simple, and solid design.
  • Motor built into the tires.
  • Offers a 30-degree incline.
  • The skateboard is fast enough.

Cons

  • Motors are not user serviceable.
  • No proper weight limit specified.

10. Benchwheel Electric Penny Board – View on Amazon

Benchwheel Electric Penny Board

We are almost done with all the amazing skateboards that have managed to impress us, and sometimes even disappoint us, and we are pleased to announce that we have found some really surprising results that we would be sharing with you in the conclusion.

For now, we are talking the last entry into the list of the best electric skateboards that we have had the chance to see so far, and the news is pretty damn good. Without further ado, let’s begin, shall we? The skateboard that we are looking at is named Benchwheel Electric Penny Board, at this point, we are not really sure about the somewhat strange naming scheme that companies are following.

Still, we moved that complain aside and decided to give this skateboard a thorough run down in order to check if it’s actually good enough, and to our surprise, it actually was. As a matter of fact, the skateboard is good enough for the price you’re paying.

The Benchweel uses a stiff deck made out of bamboo, and while stiff decks are usually not something a lot of people want, they are really, really solid, and provide the proper way of commuting. The bamboo is actually covered with a special type of grip tape that allows the shoes to easily grip on to the surface and ensures that there are no unwanted accidents, whatsoever.

There is a small cut on the deck that doubles up as a handle, in case you run out of battery, you can simply pick it up and start walking, something we don’t normally see, and is definitely a nice inclusion. There is a metal box under the skateboard that is used to house the motor along with all the other important stuff that you will want to protect against dust and debris.

The total range is around 15 miles, and this isn’t bad, however, like we have stated time and again, this entirely depends upon the manner in which the rider uses the skateboard as well as rider’s weight. The brakes are regenerative, means that if you do brake often, you’ll get to slightly charge the batteries, something that is definitely a nice inclusion.

There are a total of 2 motors that can provide the maximum output of 1,800w, this is definitely a nice touch as it allows the proper, and equal distribution of power and torque to the skateboard, and allows for a smoother experience.

The initial reviews with the Benchwheel were rather positive, however, upon thorough testing, we concluded that the battery started failing as it wasn’t able to properly hold charge. Something that we didn’t really expect. With that said, that’s one major issue we have, and can break the deal for a lot of users.

Pros

  • Relatively inexpensive.
  • Dual motors.
  • Enclosure to protect all the important stuff.

Cons

  • Battery starts discharging when not in use really fast.

Sure, it’s still not available to general public, but this happens to be product that doesn’t get matched that easily, as a matter of fact, we’d be damn impressed if we see something like that in the coming days or months.

It’s available in 4 different sizes that are specific to different type of people, has an AI that learns and tunes the board as per your needs. What more could you need?
